Wednesday's Delicious Deal: Ping Pong Dim Sum

The deal: The new Penn Quarter restaurant just kicked off its happy hour deals, offering $3 dim sum items like baked chicken, pork and vegetable puffs, char sui bun, chicken and black pepper rolls, prawn balls, veggie spring rolls and Vietnamese spring rolls. Tiger, Tsingtao and Sapporo Reserve bottles are $4; specialty martinis are $5.
The deets: Happy hour specials run Monday through Friday, 4-7 p.m. Another late-night happy hour runs Thursdays 10-11 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays, 10 p.m.-midnight with $7 specialty martinis, $20 bottles of Stella di Notte Prosecco and $4 desserts.

I like dim sum, but always spend too much..and get way too full!
We both thought the food was a mixed bag. There were dishes we'd order again, but not always the same ones! For instance, he loved the tempura asparagus while I thought it was tasty but way overcooked. (then again, we can't agree on how long green beans should be cooked either)
I'm guessing we'll be back, likely for a quick-ish meal before a movie at E Street or Gallery Place, but neither of us would want to linger on the uncomfortable seating.
Definitely a Happy Hour option.
You know, I have never ever had dim sum before. I think I need to check Ping Pong. Whatever that is in the picture makes my stomach growl.
