Top Chef Contestant Opening Hill Eatery

There's been some talk about Good Stuff Eatery, a new burger joint opening soon on Capitol Hill, but you can add an extra side of buzz thanks to a reality show tie.

This bit on Eater today points out that "Top Chef" contestant Spike Mendelsohn (at right) and his family are behind the new spot at 303 Pennsylvania Ave. SE. (Thanks to a reader for sending me the link.)

From the chef's website: "You know, 'Good Stuff' is more than a descriptive title. It's a declaration, an inspiration and a rallying cry...because Good Stuff Eatery isn't just another burger joint. We're on a mission to bring together good food, good times, good people and good-ness to a place where good stuff means more than just better-than-average food."

I wonder if he's opening it with $100,000...?

They could buy a really nice milkshake machine with that.

somehow I'm not thinking Spike takes it to the final.

Was'nt he billed as a sous from Le Cirque?? If so seems like a ......departure.....
OK, I know they portray the contestants a certain way on TV through editing, but he annoys me. His broadcasted sense of entitlement during the last quickfire was less than endearing, as is his over the top go-with-the-flow thing. We get it. You are chill. Move on.
regardless of the cat's attitude, the hill needs more spots. let's just hope it's not "fly by night" like so many other places around there...the kind that seem to think a few flat screens and bad art on the wall pass as legit.
