Win VIP Tix To Sugar & Champagne
Update: Your comments have so warmed Ellen Gray's heart that she's offered a second pair of tickets to give away! I'll announce two winners Friday.
Love dogs? Love sugar? And Champagne? Have I got a party for you.
The 9th annual Sugar & Champagne Affair, hosted by Todd and Ellen Gray of Equinox and Salamander Hospitality, is coming up next Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the Ritz-Carlton (1150 22nd St. NW). Metrocurean is pleased to give away two VIP tickets (a $300 value). The shindig — dog dates welcome — raises money for the Washington Humane Society.
You guys know the drill: Leave a comment on this post by Friday at 10 a.m., and I'll choose one winner at random to receive the pair of tickets.
VIP tickets will get you into the new Chef’s Tasting Room, from 6-7:30 p.m., with savory dishes from Cathal Armstrong of Restaurant Eve, RJ Cooper of Vidalia, Robert Wiedmaier of Marcel's, Brasserie Beck and Brabo, Kyle Bailey of Birch and Barley, Ryan Witcher of the Ritz-Carlton, and host chef Todd Gray.
The main event runs from 7-9 p.m., featuring plenty of bubbly and desserts from the area's top pastry chefs. Participating restaurants include 2941, Art & Soul, Buzz Bakery, CityZen and Sou'Wester, DamGoodSweet, Et Voila, Nage and more. See the full list here.
General admission tickets are $90; VIP tickets are $150. Buy tickets and support this great cause here.

Wish I had a dog to bring if I win! :)

Keep up the great work.
If my brother is going, then of course, I'm definitely going too! I love to give kissies and I love to dress up! I already know what I'm going to wear! -Ella Laetitia Perera, 4-yr old maltese pup
I'm ok with being proven wrong.

- Yes, dogs are welcome. And many dress up.
- And yes, sweets (especially chocolate, a big NO-NO!) and dogs are not a good mix, which is why some doggie bakeries are always on hand to supply appropriate treats.
- The VIP tickets do include admission to the whole event.
Love to see the interest! You readers are great.
We went last year with our 2 rescue dogs and they had a blast. We decided that tickets aren't in this year's budget - but I'd still love to attend if we're chosen.
Thanks for your consideration!
Thank you Metrocurean for bringing attention to such a great and important cause :)
I've volunteered at it before and it's awesome. If you can't go, you can always become a WHS volunteer and work this event, and many other fabulous ones, after you're trained!
I just moved to the area and came across your food blog and---well done! I'm new to food blogging but I'd love suggestions! www.andbemerry.blogspot.com
Thanks for announcing this giveaway!
