Top Chef Filming In DC Starts Soon?

Metrocurean has received a tip from a reliable source that Bravo will start filming the next season of "Top Chef" in DC next week.

It's been previously reported that the popular chef competition was eying the nation's capital for its next stop.

Judge Tom Colicchio (pictured) told a crowd last night that filming will start April 5 in a new unnamed city. That could mean crews will get rolling sooner, before the talent arrives.

DC has already been well represented on the show — our Top Chef alums include chefs Bryan Voltaggio of Volt and Mike Isabella of Zaytinya from last season, Carla Hall (season 5) and Spike Mendelsohn (season 4), who opened Good Stuff Eatery on Capitol Hill after his run on the show.

And what better time to film in DC than during our fluffy pink cherry blossom season? Here's hoping it's true.

all I know is that the production crew arrives next week, host and judges are expected to arrive early April.

it's true that the show is coming to dc. i even know some of the contestants...

...heard it was a Dupont Circle location...so Real World...you'd think they would choose something more hip DC...like Logan or Shaw.

what do you expect that LA types will know DC? Dupont is more LA-like ha ha

I guess it's gotta be a pretty big Dupont row house to fit all those cheftestants ...

Heard most of the crew, judges, etc are staying at a hotel located in upper Dupont Circle.

I can confirm too. But I can't tell you how I know either.

I heard it was a house on 2000 blk of R St., anyone else hear that?

I wonder if they'll use the same house that the kids from Real World DC used? So excited that they're coming here!

Not to be a buzzkill, but is this really that exciting? Most of the show is shot in the dungeon where they do prep work and judges' table.

I am much more into the contestants than the location. Although the mad dash around the P Street Whole Foods or DuPont market will be pretty entertaining.

What would be awesome is if we got a CraftSteak in town.

What I want to be a part of is one of those events where they have to cook for a bunch of people and we get to eat and meet the cheftestants and comment to the camera about what we thought....

PHEW! Quite the run-on sentence! LOL

How does one get invited to the cocktail parties the chef cater or more importantly - Restaurant Wars?

word has it they'll be holed up at 2030 R St., maybe they'll invite you in for one of their cocktail parties!

Olesh - I hear ya. But yes, you're being a buzz kill. ;) I'd rather have Top Chef (Emmy winner) than Real Housewives or other so-bad-it's-good genre. And it's great for the profile of the city any way you slice it. (harhar)

ya, but Dupont again, right after real world? How lame is that???

right on Fred!

Can't wait! Amy- if you find out how to get invited please share!

DO tell......any info on whereabouts, esp. for general public gatherings (restaurant wars)-that would be AWESOME!!! I can't wait...

So, anyone staked out 2030 R yet?

I have a friend who works at their LA office and apparently all the buzz about the Collichio announcement of DC and them starting soon is premature. They will be there in April for scouting, but production is scheduled to shoot May-July, with their production offices set up in Georgetown.

Thanks for update. I guess they can always use b-roll of the cherry blossoms if they can't start til May!
