Good Causes Deal: Acadiana's Po'Boy Power

Metrocurean was there when Acadiana sold nearly $27,000 in po'boys — I went for the above roast beef — to raise money for relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina.

The restaurant: Acadiana

The deal: Through Aug. 31, a portion of sales from the special "Po'boy Power" $12 roast beef or blackened catfish po'boys will benefit Friends of the Fisherman and The St. Bernard Project.

The deets: Acadiana is celebrating its 5th birthday in a few weeks, while the region the restaurant draws inspiration from — the city of New Orleans and Louisiana — marks the somber 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Twelve days after the storm and just before the restaurant opened, Acadiana chef Jeff Tunks, Passion Food Hospitality and colleagues staged a Po’ Boy Power fundraiser and sold nearly $27,000 worth of po’boys to aid hurricane relief efforts. They're bringing the fundraiser back to benefit Friends of the Fisherman and The St. Bernard Project.
