Red Hook Lobster Truck Finally Hits The Streets

After a few false starts (oh, the Twitter teasing!), the Red Hook Lobster truck started serving its first lobster rolls today. And from this photo sent to Metrocurean by a reader, people are A LITTLE EXCITED!!

Looks like that line could give Georgetown Cupcake's a run for its snack money.

After standing in line for an hour and realizing I was only two-thirds of the way through, I had to give up and go back to work. I am so heartbroken.

The line was crazy. By the time I left it had almost wrapped around Farragut Square and unfortuanetly could not try the roll.

When I walked by around noon the line was even longer than this picture. It stretched all along the second side of the park!

Yep, I see myself in line.

Wow, I'd be heartbroken too, anon. All waiting and no tasty payoff. Looks like the truck got a majorly warm welcome to the District!

No disrespect to a fantastic new food truck, but my head immediately skips the "hook" and reads "Red Lobster Truck."

heehee - maybe the chain should get into the truck biz too. ; )

(It's named for the Brooklyn neighborhood where the original restaurant is.)
